Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.

Donations of more than £500 from an individual donor must be permissible: On the electoral register; or a registered company carrying out business in the UK.

Donations and loans of more than £1500 within a calendar year must be reported to the Standards Clerks in the Scottish Parliament, and in turn reported to the Electoral Commission. The Electoral Commission is required to publish donations over £2,230.

Donations over £500 are reported to the Scottish Labour Party.

There are two thresholds where donations are registered with the Scottish Parliament, and reported in the Member's Register of Interest. These are:

£380 and over for gifts which meet the prejudice test.
£1500 and over for gifts received for political activities regardless of the prejudice test.
